hmmmmmm.... is that real wind or the predicted gusts during a rainstorm?
- this week's cold snap I could have done without.
hey, Randy, what does your crystal ball say?

Hi,
Does anyone have a used 7.5 sail for sale? Am looking for something new and in good or better condition. Send me an email describing it, and price.
Randy
Hi,
Where have all you Galts guys been hiding? I sailed 6.0 on both Friday and Tuesday. Plenty of wind. Looks like Lanier got a lot on Tuesday also. Anybody sail there?
Randy
Well, the wind was up, the wind was down, but I had a blast on my 6.5. I will be happy for at least a week and will not sell my gear. It was good to see lots of people out there. I was suprised to see how many left around 3:00 when it was light for a while. Around 3:30 it started up again and was much more consistent, William F, myself and one other guy were out having a good old time.
Gene and others, how was the coast?
Dou you know of a local sail repair loft? The old North sails location doesn't seen to want to work on windsurfer sails (and I'm not sure I'd want them working on mine anyway).
I have a mast sleeve that's opened up some stiching inside, near the head, causing the mast to go in a place it doesn't belong (make up your own joke). They called from the loft today and said they "couldn't even get the mast they have half way in..."
what the webmaster is working on:
1) new foto gallery- most likely to evolve into a media center to accomodate quicktime movies, etc.
2) add some features to weather section
a) include mos output in daily emails
b) send wind alert emails
3) scan in vintage newsletters
4) add pages for columns for various members
a) Peelskid
b) others? (the Arrogant Jerk has volunteered)
c) Doctor Ed?
5) Integrate poll into forums

about the westminster kennel club dog show was summarized in today's paper by its headline:
"Minature poodle pulls an upset"
even my own dogs looked down at the floor, shuffled their feet and quietly slunk out of the room after hearing that. the cat next door is still laughing with tears in his eyes.
I'm planning on heading down to Jacksonville or Savannah this weekend 2/15-2/18. Forecast as of Wed AM is Jacksonville NW 15-20 knots sat & sun (high tigh 11 am on sat), and Savannah is small craft advisory possible Fri night into sat. I'll probably go somewhere even if the forecast changes.
Anybody interested let me know, lets make it a CLUB Trip, the more the merrier.

Subject: What do I owe?
I heard yesterday on the news that, tragically, an Atlanta area teen had died in a skiing accident in Colorado (the 2nd young Atlanta this year IIRC). Astoundingly, this is the _10th_ fatality in Colorado this year on the slopes.
Can you imagine if FL lost 10 vacationers to sharks? the beaches would be empty. If windsurfing lost 10 sailors, we'd be mandated to wear water wings.
The last I heard from anyone concerning this matter was from Trudi. She wanted to know if she would be embarrassed by her worn and tattered 5.0 sail. If it is a HOT sail, then no-fear, otherwise it could mean trouble. What do you say Trudi??
Next on the agenda: Is everyone going to sail or watch sailors or watch the launch. If you are going to sail you are excused from PT the morning of Feb 28th. If you are going to watch sailors race you need to bring $5 extra for beer. If you are going to watch the launch then be advised of the following:
Brandy House 7:30 pm.
agenda: night sailing
upcoming trips, events
membership in post-newsletter era
"Sunday night. Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of light rain in the evening. Lows in the upper 30s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. "
I think the winter of 01-02 will go down as one of the windiest between 6pm and 6am.
Can one windsurf with night vision goggles?
Howdy,
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best method for repairing a poly-board? My O'Brien Elite developed a 3" split at the nose on Monday (after leaving the water thankfully). The methods I found on rec.windsurfing were:
1) Goop adhesive
2) Hot glue sticks
3) Epoxy/glass
4) "P-tex" for snow skis
5) Melting with a soldering iron

welcome to the new windsurfatlanta.org message boards
please consider this in "beta" for a few weeks as this has been an extensive editing of a pretty big script and a few things may have fallen through the cracks. let the webguy know how you like it and if there are any problems.
