Windsurfing and Kiteboarding at Fields Landing Park

General Information

Unlike most Allatoona spots, the wind was pretty smooth (4 mile fetch) and really solid. Much more chop than normal for Allatoona, but wasn't a problem. Nice rigging area. Plastic Restrooms (well nothings perfect) and virtually no one there. Looks like this might be a really good spot during the warmer weather months when the rest of the lake is crowded.

Legacy Directions

Directions: Take 575 N to Highway 20 exit. Go west on highway 20 (Knox Bridge Highway) about 5-10 minutes, look for the sign to Field Landing Park. The boat ramp is about a mile south of the Highway 20. It looks like the boat ramp is open all the time, currently not manned, but apparently will be later in the year.

Local Tips

If you go a little farther, you can come to Sweet Water, a Corps of Engineers campground and day use area, which launches a little to the south, and on the west side. Only problem with Sweet Water, is that the Day use area is not open till May 7 (As of Randy's post. We'll assume it's open during the warmer months but you should check first.)
