Brazil and Illinois

I stumbled across this wonderful video via the Facebook page of a member of the WindsurfAtlanta Facebook group. I thought is was beautiful - wonderful photography, drone shots and a killer music track. I emailed its creator and star, Chad Ozdinc.

"Where in the world were these shots taken?" Brazil - yeah, the blue water makes sense - and closer to his current home of St. Louis, Carlisle Lake in Illinois. Chad considers Brazil his second home and it takes about 30 seconds of video to understand the appeal. But, the drone shots in Illinois are breath-taking on their own and serve to remind us how beautiful our sport is where ever it happens.

Nags Head Fall 2018

Update: the trip is sold out. If you are interested in going in the spring, contact Barrett for details.

Barrett is planning another couple of weeks in Hatteras this fall and has a few openings. He stays up in Nags Head which shortens the drive a bit and there is good windsurfing out the back door. It's always a good trip and if you have ever wanted your picture taken windsurfing, this is your best bet as Barrett always takes great pics.

Quit reading about how much fun Hatteras is, just go already!

Pole Surfer's Got Nice Moves

Now that even 4k cameras and drones are commonplace and affordable, there are so many great windsurfing videos available. Most just get posted to a forum post but every once in a while, a really good one comes along that not only should you watch, but watching on a big enough screen makes it so much better. I caught this one last night on our TV (Youtube app on Roku). It's a gem: humor, great shots, appropriate soundtrack. It ticks all the boxes.

Oh, apologies to our kite brethren. After taking a few humorous jabs over the years from you guys/gals, this one gives a couple of good natured ones back.
