Windy at Lanier - Nice afternoon Wed, 5-23-07

I don't know about Florida, but it was breezy at the Lake late this afternoon. Marcel, Zlotky & I sailed at Van Pugh. Randy sailed at Van's Tavern.

The weather was perfect - sunny & warm enough that I didn't wear a wetsuit. Marcel & I started out on 8.3's, but it gradually picked up & became less gusty until we finished on a continuous plane 6 - 6:30 PM.

Here is the Wind reported at Gainesville. Continuous windspeed on the water was 2-3 mph higher, but the gusts look about right.

16:53 E 13 G 20 Partly Cloudy
15:53 SE 12 G 24 A Few Clouds
14:53 SE 12 G 20 Partly Cloudy

We typicall sail at Van Pugh Park on Lake Lanier. Sorry, but there is no public gear storage facility. Marinas on the Lake offer storage for a fee, but the windsurfers I know bring their gear with them.

Ray,

Where did you live in Spain? I've spent a lot of time in Spain and even windsurfed in Huesca (North of Zaragoza) and in Porto (Portugal).
