Windfest at Hatteras

Is anyone going to this? I have never been but it sounds like fun. I will split expenses if someone is interested. I will be alone and really don't want to do it all myself. The date has been changed to the 3rd weekend in April this year (April 20-22nd). Let me know if you are interested.

Alan,
Check and see if the Nag's Head house is open that week. It would be more cost effective to stay there with company. And you could stay all week.

Thanks

I was considering camping at Frisco Woods. Getting a big house didn't make a lot of sense for just myself. It would make it a $1,000 week for me. If someone else is going it would be more of a consideration.

One never goes to Hatteras alone, if possible. So much more fun to sail with buds or family and splitting the cost makes it all worthwhile. Split a house and you spend $100-150 for the week.

Lurk around here and rec.windsurfing for others who are going.

Alan,

The house Patrick was talking about is a house in Nags Head which Ron (from up north) gets for about 5 weeks every spring and some atlanta sailors usually end up at for a week or two. Barrett (& Peggy) Walker usually go for 2 or 3 or 4 weeks, and several other atlanta sailors (Patrick, Randy, Charlie Phillips,) sometimes go. It's a good group, the house is super and on the the sound, rig once, leave it rigged. Several other people from Atlanta are talking about trying to stay with Ron this spring, so you may want to try to join them.

Years back when a group from Atlanta use to rent West Wind (great house in Rodanthee), Ron and Capt Bob use to rent the house next door and we all became friends.

The WindFest at Frisco Woods is fun to camp at also, Lisa & I camped at it once but it happened to RAIN the whole time of the event. We still had a good time, lots of bon fires and plenty of beer. We have also gone to the WindFest just for a day while staying elsewhere in the area.

Anyway, give me a call if you want more info: 770-967-0104 / 404-735-4944.
