Wind this weekend

We seem to be getting conflicting weekend wind forecasts.
yahoo/weather/com reporting 10-20 for Sat but numerical forecasts seem to indicate no wind for same time period.
I am used to sligt variations due to reporting agencies, but this is a pretty drastic variance.

I actually get a lot more worried when all the forecasts are in agreement that it will be windy. However, my expereince is that the various models and forecasts don't agree that much. What is really nutty is that a certain model will seem to be the "gold standard" for 2-3 months, and then all of the sudden become useless, while some other model will pop up and become reliable.

The usual problem over the past several years has been models providing false predictions of wind. Recently, the problem has been more often that they fail to predict wind when its going to happen.

Anyway, if the wind does materialize tommorrow, it is supposed to be SW. If its not that strong (ie around 10kt) I'll probably head to 2 Mile on Lake Lanier. Its really my favorite spot for that direction in lighter winds. Its much closer for me than Sunrise, and when the wind isn't that strong, there probably won't be anyone else sailing at Sunrise anyway. If the wind is stronger, I may go to Sunrise.

Anyone going to Allatoona? I suppose Old 41 would be the choice. I'm not sure if it is open.
