Who's Going on SAT!!!! 20G30 forecast

Hey Crew... I know you are all over this weekend wind forecast, just like us... Looking pretty pretty pretttty good!!!! Hope we do really get the 20G30mph as the forecast is calling.

I have not been lately to Van Pugh, but have been to Old Federal (this week). Water level is so low, that O.F. provides now possibilities of real downdwinders, however I was thinking maybe hanging on Van Pugh this weekend. If Gene cooks up the hot soup (he did it Jan 2006, I remember!!) and we fire the big fireplace, it could be EPIC Saturday....

Can anyone give me a report of the launching conditions on VP (given the low water level) for West winds?. I can only imagine being better for launching and riding from the get go, without the need to "turn the corner" wind shadow prevalent at normal water level. Any comments?

Rgds.
Emilio.

The biggest problem launching at VP is windshadow, as always for W winds. The last 50 feet may be as bad as ever (sometimes even seems worse.) However, there are now so many islands and penninsula's that alternative launching spots may be available. Over by Bozo island there is much more land than before. In fact, its no longer an island. Since kites are much easier to move to a different launch spot, you may find a good location. I'd suggest stoping by on your way to Old Fed. If it looks good, you can launch at VP. If not, go to Old Fed. BTW - I think you'd find Tidwell now better than last year when you came by, for the next time we get an E or ENE wind.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
