...or should I ask? I'd love to get out there this weekend, but I don't know if it's worth the hassle of crowds and boat traffic. I've got two days off this weekend, though.
You can walk across the lake on the boats.. and it is really choppy.
Now if it is raining and windy, that cuts the number of boats down. If you go you need to plan on getting there early, as the parks fill up pretty fast, at lease they used to.
I hope to sail Van Pugh Sunday morning, forecast is showing NE and slacking off after noon. Boat traffic hasnt been too bad lately, with the low water, heat and end of the summer. It is a holiday but I'm thinking Sunday Morning should not be bad.
Find out when the big football games are and go then. I've seen virtually empty lakes on some fall weekends even though the water is warm and weather beautiful. Sundays can be quiet before 12-1 pm, too.
Gene, there's a chance of decent wind Sat or Sunday - Sim plays down at Griffin which is where I'll be.
It appears the best wind over the next few days is 2-4 a.m. on Sunday. The moon is waning, 3/4 full and will be well overhead by that time... plus, I'll bet no problemo with boat traffic
Those DOGS at NWS! Musta been right after I posted above they changed the f'cast (-5mph).
Lake Juliette is never crowded, what few motor boats do launch go to the north end of the lake to fish, we will be there saturday (forcast is 10 to 20) if anybody wants to come hang with us
the drawback, it's not the greatest with northeast winds
