Wish I could go but my grommets are flying back in tonight from being out of town for a while.
I did make it out yesterday, though, up at Sunrise. Blew pretty well until 3 when things shut down. There was a thunderstorm in Gwinnett which may have killed the wind.
Finally got the full size formula board and 9.4 wet after years of being in mothballs*. Dang, it makes a difference. Now I remember why I bought the durn thing.
CV reports that the wind came back late yesterday and he was lit up on a 7.5.
*I got old and out of shape for a few years and didn't feel I could handle it well. Should have gotten it out sooner.
My wife and I packed lunch and spent the afternoon at Van Pugh. Seeing long-board conditions, Jim & Gene came and left, then Carl and his family arrived and rigged, followed by Chris P. At 4:30 PM, I de-rigged and the wind came up, so I re-rigged and had 45 minutes of good steady wind on a constant plane with my 8.3m sail. Then Gene returned and Z arrived to catch the last gusts before a thunderstorm began brewing to the West.
