Not in a couple of years. Two great spots just above the dam. The real advantage to going there is in the fall and winter.

In the fall, EVERYBODY it seems is off watching football so the lake is empty.

In the winter, wind and water temps can sometimes be significantly warmer than Lanier. One memorable time when there was a NE wedge, Lanier was in the high 30s (air) and West Point was in the 50s. That was definitely worth the extra half hour from Atl. It's about 70 m from the airport to the lake so judge travel time accordingly.

There is a small crew that sails down there but not many folks which is a shame. It's easy to get to both sides of the lake and you get a decent mile fetch for the most common wind directions.

I'd say with the geese at Lanier, it couldn't be much worse. I seem to get a nasal infection everytime I sail Lanier anyway (it even has a name: lake nose).
