I guess it β€˜helps’ if you never learned the rule 🀣. Ignorance is bliss πŸ˜… Seriously though, with my dry suit (even had a battery heated shirt under it on Sun) and 2 gloves, I am never really cold

+2 Noonish.

The rule of 100 is missing variables for wind, sun & fun, so I pretty much ignore the rule. I think Randy, with his background in physics, could improve it.

I'm thinking for the next couple of months all live reports should include temp. Lol

Peelskid, they are doing the 100 rule pretty much 40 air, 45 water and 15 wind speed.

I like the Long Island version. It truly captures the desperation that makes us go: https://www.peconicpuffin.com/the_peconic_puffin/2012/01/100-degree-rule-long-island-style.html

I'm curious about that heated shirt. Many years ago I have heated vest I wore under my wetsuit. It did help in coldest weather but only ran an hour or so, esp. if you spent much time in the water. Eventually it wore out and I got into wind/land sports during winter so quit most winter sailing. I was wondering if your heated shirt uses graphene tech. I just got a heated back support using this new tech. Seems to work quite well and uses little electricity. I got to wondering if that could be adapted to cold water sports.
