Jr. is down with the flu (which means I need to stay home) and I don't feel much better. I know I feel bad because, despite the forecast, I could hardly crawl out of bed this morning.
OK, I'm not sailing but I had to go check it out. Around 2:00, there were plenty of caps, and there were about 6 or 8 sailors running sails in the 5.0 -5.5 range. The wind was west with alittle south in it so there is some wind shadow, and it's pertty cloudy now.
Well, all I can say is I bought a new North wetsuit from Tim and it's so warm I can't belive my temperature buds. Here it is a week before Turkey Day and I'm in the water taking breaks and not feeling any cold. Thanks to Tim and to North for some much needed warmth. I know that water must be cold because it's November.
Arrived at 3:00 to find light rain, light wind and one other sailer (don't know who but they had a classic mistral longboard and sail). Rain stopped after 15 minutes and wind picked up to solid 6.5. Lasted for about 45 minutes then backed down to planning only in gusts. Naturally, it picked back up as I was leaving, just before 6:00. Al L. showed up late but didn't sail. Also saw two other folks, one with a Bic Techno and one who aunched from the Atlanta Yacht Club.
Lake Juliette was solid 5.0-5.5 for most of the day. It is a much better place to sail when the wind has a little S in it (which it seemed to be yesterday). I'll try to get a few video clips up this weekend.
Count on it. I'm out of town again.
