VP Update 3/23 12:45

Van Pugh Wed 12:45 - Some sun, some clouds, some wind, NO CAPS! Temp is 62 degrees, direction is west. Some forecast call for wind, I'm watching it, if it comes up I'll probably go.

I sailed 6.6 at Galts. Good thing I didn't go to Van Pugh. I rigged a 5.8, but the strap holding the mast plug in place broke - impossible to fix at the lake. I rigged my 6.6, which turned out to be well powered most of the time. Looks like from the web site that Gainsville was quite a bit windier, so I'd have been out of luck w/o my 5.8.

So what did people sail at Lanier?

Randy,
You better believe you are lucky to be at Galts. If you would have ended up on BOZO Island you would never have heard the end of it.

Why do you think I carry a complete pack of camping supplies in my vest. If I end up on Bozo island, I'm heading for the back side of it, where no one can see me and camping out till a boat comes by. No swimming back in (in plain sight) for me. Lol

OK, since no one else is going to report, VP turned out pertty good Wed, I was told. It wasnt capping when I was there at 12:45, I went home and kept watching but it didnt look like it was doing much, nice day though. Then at 3:30 I rode dack down to the park, where there were 4 or 5 sailors on sizes 6.0 to 6.7, I rigged my 7.0, and it came up some, so I rigged my 6.0 and got a few runs in. So I pertty much missed most of it, but the regulars had a good day. It sure was warm for there to be wind.

This may sound like I had a bad day, BUT compared to my last 2 sailing adventures (Bozo and broke boom), it was a great day.
