Working in the AM but will pack up for Galts after lunch. Figure I'll have at least 2 extra hours of sailing time not driving out to the Fall Classic... It's still a fun event-wish I could go.
You didn't miss the best day ever but it was OK. It blew pretty good around 2 for a couple hours. It started to die around 4 and I left. It is now 6 and it appears to have picked back up a little. I was too tired to sail anymore. Randy and I sailed at least 4 hours with our big sails. I rigged a 9.0 and I believe Randy had an 8.5. It felt good to get out.
Thanks to Gene and Chuck I have some equipment that made it a lot more fun. Sailed the Madd 165 for the first time. The new mast and sail made all the difference. It sure is worth it buying from these guys instead of mail order. You just can't beat regional dealers that understand local conditions.
Looking forward to this week. Might get a couple more days.
At Lanier we had a good bit more wind. I sailed a 6.0 sail and even considered rigging down to my 5.2 for a while. Very nice day. About 10 of us sailed at Van Pugh, while the racers were racing over at the Lake Lanier sailing club. They had some while racing stories at the dinner, which was most excellent.
Saturday's conditions at VP were wonderful and beautiful - fully wound up 5.8, warm water and air, bright skies, diamonds on the water on starboard, cool sailboats out - saw Chris V. and others screaming up and downwind on longboards. I've been looking for this day for six months.
I plan on being there Saturday around 2.
I'm still stuck working and cannot get out!!! Will have to try again tomorrow. It's 3:37 and looks like it's picking up too!

Got one good ride at Toona, Alan and Randy had it goin' on... I need a 160L board or to lose 30 lbs!
