It's that season: the easterlies of fall. Vann's Tavern, VP and the emerging winging spot, Tidwell should be good.
These tend to be morning sessions only - as the day heats up, it kills the wind unless it's overcast. Best winds usually from 9:30 to 11:00 am.

Will be at the new winging spot Thursday!

Plan cancelled last minute but wind gusts still showing
Foiling questions.
What sail size do you use in 10-15 mph winds?
Is it ok to use 9.5m?
Ed
At your weight I’d try a 7.5 first.
You’ll be surprised once you get up in a gust how little it takes to stay up.
Okay, rigging 7.5 at Vans
Friday might be interesting.
Interesting picture Ed. It does look like as of the time you posted it, Vanns had no rain. Meanwhile, at almost the same time Tidwell had it's own private storm cell which just hung there for an hour (or maybe longer? I got tired of waiting since I was drenched). U of North GA showed almost a half inch of rain starting around 10:15. I think I can see some rain coming down in the distance in the photo.
I made it out by 9 and the wind was fairly weak, but very it quickly picked upy. I Wingfoiled with a 4.5+Foil Drive - mostly just to help take off, with foiling powered by the wing only. That worked quite well until the wind really picked up. After several crashes I decided to come in and rest hoping for more "user friendly" wind....The rain had other ideas and so I packed up and called it a day.
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

I'll try again tomorrow. 9.5 wouldn't have helped Ed today though.
And, no, you won't need the 9.5 pretty much at all now.
8:30 Vanns: no white caps but ripples and small movements in the trees with occasional gusts. Hopefully it will come up by the time I am done with a meeting at 9-9:30. I will rig 8. If you’re webguy or Langdon, probably 5.2? 😂
10:30 update: wind sports in Atlanta suck!! 😂🤪

Ran the 4m wing at Tidwell this morning and had more power than I needed from about 9:50 til 11:00. Would have stayed in longer if I didn’t have other obligations. Almost didn’t bother going based on Gilmers wind readings, but Alliance Academy was reporting 16mph and that changed my mind. Saw the speed boats upwind being chased by a helicopter while I was out there.

I stayed home based on Gilmer. Given Hamdi's enthusiastic experience at Vann's seems like something was up as far as a gradient or something. The weather this morning was weird. There was a long band just SE of Atlanta that was parked there all morning not even moving.
Glad you had a good time. Looking forward to Sunday if the Euro model wins this one.
