Thursday Report

I had an excellent session @ Vann's Tavern - from about 11:00 til 1:00, I was mostly well powered on a 5.8 & shortboard. After some slacking, I had some good runs on my new (old) 6.7 - ( thanks Albert.) I have recently sailed Van Pugh in E-NE winds enough to say that on any day with the promise of good easterly winds in the future, I'll be at Vann's Tavern - much mo better I think.

We had eleven windsurfers at Van Pugh this morning on 5.3 to 7.5 meter sails. I don't think it gets any better than this at L. Lanier. 80F water and good wind made for a perfect day. I sailed a 7.0m with a JP 98 liter freestyle-wave board. I was a bit overpowered from 10:30-11:30AM, then just right. Out by the island there were good waves for jumping. I've sailed from Van Pugh to Vanns Tavern and back on an East wind and they seem the same to me.

Jimmy and I sailed Galts and it was quite an excellent session too! Mostly steady wind from the East, smooth water and very fast. He was on a 9.5 and I was speeding along on a 7. We were there from about 2-4:15.
