Might blow some again tomorrow (Fri) and Saturday. I might try it again tomorrow, but probably pass on Sat as it is the start of Memorial day weekend, could be kind of crowded.
Four at VP. Spreendog (6.5) and Chris P (4.9 that begged to get wet) took first shift. I took middle and Langdon batted clean up (both 6.0s). Had a blast in the open water on 2D windsurfer and when the wind slackened, went 3D (foil). I stayed dry 2D sailing and ended up almost snorkeling 3D. It's humbling.
Beautiful day. I remember looking up the lake at one point and the water and air were the deepest blues. The low humidity made everything sparkle like a photoshopped picture but it was real.
Wind line was tame and only about 30-40 yds out. Launching from the right side of the beach (water is up a bit), works real well right now. Just mind the rocks on the way in.
Langdon brought me back a souvenir from OBX. Thanks, dude!
With Gilmer reporting SW wind, I joined the Old Federal group. I was able to launch from the beach and sail to the right, past the islands and their wind shadows. I was rigged right with a 7.0m sail and 111L board. From webguy's description, it seems that Van Pugh may have been better for windsurfing and Old Federal for kiting.
Mike, a kiter from Tampa, put on quite a show as his son hitched a ride off the beach.
I _was _anxious to try my new (to me) 4.9 and it was working well most of the time I was out, which was earlier.
Hope I wasn't seeming to suggest otherwise. I knew you were excited to get it on the water and you were smiling at the end of the day. That's a winner in my book.
Chance of participation: 98%
Based on the forecast, I plan to sail tomorrow, Thursday. Are you heading to Van Pugh?

For me, yes.
If I can escape work I will join you at VP in the afternoon

Headed to Old Fed after lunch
Nice day at OF, 3 kiters and 4 of those other things. Some nice, long foiling runs by foilboy.
For CV, just go strapless:
