Oddly, that NGM model thing shows temps steady at 49 for 12 hrs tomorrow. Too bad my threshold is 50... but then again, pretty good wind speeds... maybe I'll see you there!
I was thinking of heading to the baby pool (Galts) but the temps on the west side of town dropped a lot lower than it appears to have been the case for Lanier. It was 34 around lunchtime. Seemed like G-ville was reporting arond 43 most of the day.
We had 6 sailors (or 7 if you count David W), and had another good day, sailed 5.2 sail, wasnt too cold, started out around 40, ended around 36. Sailors were Tim C, Joe O, Jammie H, Andrew B, Barret W and me. Oh, and David.
I hope this is not a fortell of next year. I am getting bashed lately and I don't mean by the waves. I may at some point have to inflict revenge@#$%^&!
Hey Gene: Nope, I didn't get to sail Kalmus Thursday, because I was working and could not break free in time to get any daylight - bummer. I checked with a guy who did sail and there were more than a dozen sailors there. He said it was strictly survival sailing on 4.0 or less with huge washing machine waves near the channel. He's pretty good and only lasted about two hours due to cold hands from so much time in the water.
Hope to see you - if I still remember how to sail.

ngm has a range of error of plus/minus 2% which makes 50 within the range of the forecast
(not really but sounds good)
I plan on heading to Van Pugh to arrive around 1 PM. Compared to Sunday when the temp. dropped into the low 30s, today should be balmy.
Barrett
Rather balmy here at Kalmus Beach....(except for the 46 degree water)
