If it blows I'll probably sail in the afternoon.

I will seriously consider Galts if anyone else goes. Hopefully it will be warm.

Galts?

What time are thinking about Mimi? I may be able to slip out for a couple hours. I think it may be cool though.

It's looking good for Galts. I am shooting for 1. It may even be warm.

Best day Van Pugh in a long time.

5.5 conditions, sunshine, warm, and waves nicely lined up.

Great day.

sweet... kind of day that makes it all worthwhile. All of what Mark said plus the Falcons were playing so there was almost no boat traffic - 3 power boats all afternoon.

btw, it really does blow harder upwind of Van Pugh if you can go up about a 1/4 mile into the gap towards Lake Lanier Islands. Up higher, I would have been happy on a 5.0 while below toward V.P., the holes were bigger.

It was nice at Galts too. Alan and Fred were there. Fred was on a 7 or so and Alan on a 6 something but later rigged a 9.
The wind was weird. It never settled down consistently in one direction and there were lots of holes. We all anticipated better stuff. Oh well. We were all happy to be out, had some very nice runs nonetheless and the weather was sweet.

I too sneaked in some fun at VP on a 5.5 between 2-3:30. Ditto webguy's wind description... it always looks better upwind, and sometimes it really is-- 'though me thinks the ramps be better farther downwind. Also that little island straight out from the launch (and all the way across) is just out of the water enough to make a nice flat spot for a long smooth jibe (or an attempt at one in my case).

btw, that very 5.5 is for sail. It's a V8 w/ pretty high miles but still runs great. It knows how to go fast, very stable, easy to rig... everybody loves their V8. $50
