Sunday Morning? 7/30

Randy has headed to Van Pugh, airport has had readings of 10 & 11, I think I'll go try it in a few minutes, 10-10:30.

When you guys say Van Pugh, do you mean Van Pugh Park? That is 2 1/2 hrs. away from me, but I can go if I plan a few days ahead of time.
I hope to see y'all soon,
J.J.

J.J.,
Be cautious before driving 2.5hrs to a windsurf site in the summer months.
The summer months are notorious for getting skunked-meaning the winds are predicted but do not develop into anything.
From September on, the wind predictions are a little more reliable.

JJ and everyone.,

It sure wouldnt have been worth the drive. Randy and I sailed around for about an hour and 1/2, never planed, then it took me about 30 minutes trying to get back to the shore. The wind got REAL lite, shifted alot more to the south, I ended up having to pump back in and even had to swim it back in the last 30 yards (wind shadow). It beat not sailing but just by alittle bit.

Lee pulled up as we were breaking down. He's going to hang around to see if it comes back up.

Oh yesterday, it blew real hard, for real, about 25mph, caps everywhere. It looked like it was starting to blow so I rode down to check it out right when a storm was coming across the lake, and it really cranked up for about 15 minutes. It was a really bad storm and then it was gone.

One other thing, parking doesnt seem to be an issue anymore. I'm not sure if it's because of gas prices, the heat or the low lake level. I think it may be a combination of all of the above. Boat traffic doesnt seem as bad either.

I waited around for about an hour but never rigged anything. The boat traffic got much worse, including a couple of big offshore power boats running way over 60 mph back into the VP bay. :x When the leaves on the trees quit moving entirely I decided to come home and cut grass.
