This can't be Atlanta. We had wind, warm (hot) air, and plenty of cool water in the full lake. That was yesterday and today looks like more of the same. One forecast shows the wind starting around 11:00, so I'm going to try to get there early, maybe 10 or 10:30 (more parking, less boat traffic and not so hot.) Parking wasnt too bad yesterday but Sundays are usually the worst. So Van Pugh early, the next wind may be in September.

I plan on arriving at Van Pugh around noon. Yesterday was a lot of fun!

Anyone going to Galts? I will be there after 11:30. Cannot wait to WINDSURF - it has been about a YEAR. What a sucky place to live... till today.

On weekends and holidays, never, never, never go to Galts when warm, sunny and yes, windy. At just after noon, there was a line of at least 20 cars backed up from the gatehouse. They turned everyone away... OK, then I went to Red Top Mountain toward the lodge and just before the bridge there was a place to sail . by the fishing jetter. Not great, wind was on and off, mostly off. I turned around and packed it in. Next time, I'll just take the trainer kite and forget water stuff on weekends. What a zoo. Anyone have better luck today? I think God hates me...

Van Pugh can get just as crowded, I arrived around 8am Saturday and there was only 10 cars in the park, by noon it was full. I had a awesome day on the Hobie.

Sunday they overbooked camping at Juliette and let people camp around the pavillion and made us sail from the dock way up in the wind swirly cove, getting out wasnt to bad but I think I made 40 tacks to get back in though...

Sunday was a lot of fun at Van Pugh. The lot filled up at about 1 PM, but parking opened up again at 4 PM as people began leaving. It wasn't a good day for a beginner due to the crowded beach & boats

I did manage to get to Galts on Sunday. Got there about 1:30 and waited an hour to get in. Normally I would not wait that long but I have not sailed since the fall regatta so I gladly waited and read a book while in line. I sailed my cat and 9.5 and the wind was up and down. I did get a few good runs in and that got Eddy, not Brodeur, to get his formula out but he did not make it out while I was there. I think he was hosting a big get together with family and friends. Anyway, it was good to get out again.
