I went for a jog at 3pm yesterday and I was passing lake windward when I saw...wind! I ran back home, got the bic and my 8.0 and windsurfed. Pretty cool, I even had one reach at full plane in the harness. On July 22 in Atlanta - wow. Gene - did you sail?
Also, I did go to cape hatteras last weekend for 3 days: surfed, windsurfed and kitesurfed - as Gene says "I love this place".
Yes - lots of wind in the am (8:30 to noon)- I measured 15-20 at one point. Typically I'd say around 12-15. Was planning very solid most of the time on 7.4 and hypersonic. Went out on Serenity during a brief lull, but the wind picked up again, so back to the hyper.
Richard - did you sail in Lake Windward? How is it for sailing?

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
I actually have a lake boat sticker for my long board - so I am legit - I was suprised that they gave it to me. However, I was on my shortboard - the carbon bic 145l, no sticker and no problem either. They do not allow swimming, so it is a little boarder-line to be on a windsurf board. I rarely try to go there, but have gone maybe 5 times in as many years. It is a very small lake, but the long way does line up roughly E/W.
So to answer the previous question - yes it was lake windward, no it is not that good - but is close - maybe I can teach my doughter initially there...

Hope everyone is doing well.
Jowell and I did sail Sunday afternoon, I did plane some but it was really not much wind. I was sailing my 7.5 on the Nova (wide board with big fin.)
Randy had sailed in the morning and I think had more wind.

I have friends that live at Windward. Were you windsurfing in the Lake? I thought they didn't allow that.
