Joined Patrick on the water at about 3:30. Patrick mostly slogged on a 7.5 (?). I managed to plane several times on an 11.0. Things picked up nicely after 6:00. A big dark cloud moved overhead and it was shore to shore planning for about 30 minutes before I packed it in.
P.S.- The park attendent remineded me the lower parking lot closes at 6:00 PM. I had to go in to move my car to the boat ramp area. Probably a good thing since it was just before the wind picked up and I had been thinking about derigging.
It was somewhat better at Tidwell. I sailed my 8.5 and longboard and it was pretty good. Got to where I was planning on most runs, and eventually switched to my 110 liter Hawk. One downside - despite being well into October, and a low lake there are still lots of motorboats out there.

VP was great. started around noon, longboards, 7.5 and 8.3. enough wind to move with gusts. The wind shifted to more East and picked up. Planing and into the harness most of the time. Then a big gust from the NE, mast all the way back, in the back straps all the way from Bozo island out past VP and into the middle of the lake. WOW longboards are still FUN
Right on, and while we're talking longboard virtues, I want to mention nightsailing - as it turns out I did w/s-camp on Bozo Island Friday night, and it was way cool. Sailed in the brilliant moonlight from about 9 til 11. cruising all around the Flowery Branch cove with almost no one else on the water. It was fantastic.
13:30 headed for Galts
14:30 I'm headed there too. -Bill H.
