Looks like there's a chance of some wind beginning Sunday and lasting a few days. If it blows I hope to sail Van Pugh .

Today is looking good. Emilio and I will be at Old Federal. Hope there are some other kiters that can join us.

We had a good day yesterday Sunday 6/3.

I rode close to 2 hrs non-stop, on 83F. wearing nothing but board shorts...men it feels good not to bring the dry suit to Lanier. BTW, my Ocean Rodeo size XL is for sale if anybody interested, please contact me (404 509 4229).... Yesterday we saw A LOT more boat traffic than normal (Fall/winter) when we believe the park is property of LocusWind (it is not...), but it was fun to jump the wake of the boats....

Wind didn't feel gusty but it was up for 10min or so, and then it will drop 10min or so.. So the best combo (for me) was a big kite+ big board, to be able to stay planing on the luls. I was out on the North Vegas 16m with a Litewave Freestyle 169cm.

For 30 min I borrowed Richard Gene's surf board with no straps, and it was awesome. I enjoyed a lot, the added flotation of the board and the feeling of having no straps was great. It was difficult to transition, so I was stoping and sinking then switching the board to go the other direction. With a bit of practice, transitioning with no straps directional surf board doesn't seem so dounting.

See below the wind reported today.

Time(EST)/Wind Speed/ Gust Speed
11:53 AM 12.7 mph -
12:53 PM 12.7 mph 20.7 mph
1:53 PM 8.1 mph 21.9 mph
2:53 PM 13.8 mph 20.7 mph
3:53 PM 10.4 mph 19.6 mph
4:53 PM 8.1 mph -

Kiters seen on Old Fed Sun 03/June
Mel Johnson
Khalil Salman
Emilio Cobo
Brent Gillette
Sean Hynes
Martin Wintermarter
Chris the Swiss
Fridge (who's this guy again)
on the boat (we didn't see him) Dave Klept (I saw him riding 1 mile upwing from Old Federal).

Have an eye out for today. Forecast seems to be good too.

RGds,
Emilio.

The forecast is for WSW wind this afternoon (Monday). If the wind picks up as predicted, I'll head to Old Federal Park. Today, we may have the windsurfers and kiters together. Sunday was great at Van Pugh with a good turnout. Emilio, please call if you decide to go 404-378-2752.

I'll probably be at Van Pugh around 1 or 2, I think Randy and David W are also headed there, (and probably Barrett & Marcel.) If there's a big wind shadow I may decide to go on over to Old Fed.

Emilio,

I meant, go over to Old Fed to WindSurf. BUT Tomorrow, Tuesday, Brent and I may go to Old Fed and try to kite.

We did windsurf today at Van Pugh, had a good turnout (7 or Dirol for a weekday, sails ranged from 7.4 to 6.4. The 7.4 was alittle big in the gusts, the ideal sail was probably 6.7. VERY Nice day.
