The advantage of arriving early at VP on a Sunday is that you may get some religion in, too. Seen more than a couple of "gatherings" there. Everyone is typically, nice though.
Vann's Tavern one Sunday early last fall. Kind of awkward carrying a 9.5 through a baptism. I was on my way in from the water so kind of difficult to avoid.
I plan to sail Sunday at Van Pugh. Depending on the forecast, I expect to go mid-day. At 46F I think the launching ramp will be clear of baptisms.
Assuming no one is fishing... second time we've run into people casting lines off the launch at VP. Hard enough trying to get out of the hole and not end up on the rocks. I snared one last week, Jim C. snared one today.
All I can say is give me some of that old time religion - the kind they have in churches. (My recollection is that the church groups came more in the warmer weather months, so I doubt its a problem. This fishermen are another story.)
I'll probably be heading to Galts after lunch.
