Summer is officially here - what are your plans

Now that summer is officially here, have you decided to cancel windsurfing for a while, go off somewhere windy, or just hope it blows here?

We are going to St. Augustine for the 4th, more for fireworks and sun than anything. I plan to keep my eyes open and sail as often as possible, even if there is not much wind. My longboard is "locked and loaded." (Not sure what that means, but it sounds cool.)

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.

If I can get my Honda back on the road this week, I hope to concentrate on building my first proa ( outrigger sailing canoe ) in July. Actually it will be a 1/4 scale model to test certain design/build concepts. I want to use a windsurfer rig, but I'm a little stuck on details, like 1/4 scale booms - what material? A trip to the coast for some seabreeze sailing would be nice too. Any reports on Station 29 this summer?

I am constantly looking for a forecast of 15-20 at Tybee or St.Simons. Over the last few years I have gotten several 5.0-6.0 days in the summer. Stupid gas prices make getting skunked even more painful this year though!

Mostly mountain biking and work for me. Hopefully I will be a few pounds lighter and a little stronger this fall. It would be nice to sail for more than 3 hours. When it blows I would like to sail daylight until dark. I don't like to quit when it is still blowing. Gotta get in shape.

If I sail it will be in the boat most likely.

I'm heading down to Gulf Shores, AL for a week. Though I'm not expecting much wind that time of year, I'm taking the boards and will give it a go. Who knows, we may get lucky with some high seas or a tropical storm will brew up. The beach will be nice and we plan to take advantage of time off from the usual grind. If it isn't breezy I hope to do some snorkeling or deep sea fishin'. By the way, it will be my first time windsurfing in the Gulf Shores / Pensacola area and am open to pointers as to where to go. As for the rest of the summer, hopefully I will be able to take out the canoe and tool around a bit. Dusting off the mtn bike doesn't sound like a bad idea either.

I am leaving Sat for central Colorado. I have shipped two dirt bikes out there and Drew and I will be riding with 5 other guys. Going to Taylor Park next to Aspen to ride the mountains for a week. When I say mountains, I mean just that 12,000 to 14,000 feet. Snow. Altitude sickness and other goodies. I have done this for the past 6 years now and what a blast it is. Temperatures are 80 days and 30 nights.

juliette camping

I have a campsite reserved at lake juliette this sunday to introduce some friends to windsurfing, sailing and kayaking. If anyone has been wanting to come down and check out the lake we will be at campsite 33.

I could be interested, especially if anyone wanted to carpool or share the ride.
