Suggestions for trip to Jacksonville

Going to be in Jacksonville from april 1-4 or so to get Kiteboarding lessons at Hueg. park. I am getting lessons from Paul@ocean extreme sports, and would like to know some insight of Jacksonville. Cheap hotels to stay at, good restraunts, water temp., wind, and etc. would be appreciated. Thanks.

i'm thinking about going as well, if the forecast looks good. I am a little concerned about the tide, as its low around mid day and becomes high late in the day. So any additional input would be appreciated, as well.

Randy, high later in the day is good as it improves the chances of you having water if/when the seabreeze kicks in. But don't forget, you can sail in the river or off the beach, too.

Guest, (I can call you Guest? Is that alright?), if you are going to be at Huguenot, take the ferry over to Atlantic and Neptune Beaches. There are some good restaurants there (I want to say Neptune, but it's been about 4 years since I was there - gas was $.65/gallon on that trip) in the little downtown area. Looks like lodging won't be that bad as it's a bit north for spring breakers but I could be wrong. Other hotels are back towards town, the usual selection of the mid-budget range. If you camp, just camp at the park.

Jens,
I am not a memeber of ABC, but refered to as "Guest", so I am not familiar with the windsurfing crowd. I am going to be at hugonaut April 1-3,to get kiteboarding lessons. If you see a 16 year old kid getting dragged through the water on a big orange 15m kite, then you will know that it is me (and also know to get out of the way!). Hopefully there will me wind and good weather.
