flippadoodle, it's not even the horse that gets the medal. It's like the gymnasts watching their coach get their medals.
It will burst CP's brain (if he doesn't already know this) whose horse is among the US team ...

Thanks for posting that. It just says it all about the Olympics for me. Horse dancing! Or is it "Dancing with the Mares"? Now that's an a sport deserving to be in the Olympics. Windsurfing is lucky it go univited. Can you imagine the winner of the windsurfing gold medal going up to get his metal and then tripping on horse manure. I am now 100% certain that synchronized SUP is going to be the next big Olympic event.
Now if it can just beat out pole dancing.

CP may take comfort in the fact that Women's Beach Volleyball  is still an Olympic Sport.
Make of this what you will:
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/olympics--japanese-equestrian-defies-father-time-as-oldest-competitor-at-london-olympics.html
"The oldest competitor at the 2012 Olympic Games has revealed the extraordinary sacrifices he has made in order to remain a medal contender well past retirement age.
Hiroshi Hoketsu, who will represent Japan in the equestrian discipline of dressage at the age of 71, told Yahoo! Sports how chasing a slice of history and becoming the oldest Olympian in the last 92 years is the result of a fanatical commitment to the sport. "
Props to the guy (seriously). I'll take it on good faith that being away from his wife for a year while training was difficult. Al Bundy might have seen that as a blessing.
