"Silent Auction" items at the Sept. 24th ShredFest

This thread will be the place to list items for the Silent Auction at the Shredfest.
These items will be sold to the highest bidder with very little or no minimum.

Anyone can participate. Sell some of that stuff you ain't ever going to get rid of any other way. This is sort of a "radical" way to sell gear, so don't be a seller unless you're ready to accept whatever you get. But if you think it's better to get, say, $25 for that junky old sail (in lieu of the $80 you think it's worth but nobody's ever going to pay) than it is occupy the garage corner for yet another year, then join the fun.

You may list an item with a low minimum acceptable bid, but keep in mind, a regular Swap Meet will be going on also, so don't defeat the Silent Auction purpose by listing stuff here with anything more than the lowest possible minimum you can accept.

The Silent Auction runs a specific period of time. Silent Auction items will have a sheet of paper and a pencil attached for people to record their name and a bid, obviously a buck or two higher than the previous one you see recorded on that item. At a certain specified time, after 2 or 3 hours, all bidding will cease after a last minute countdown. The last name (highest bid) gets the item. If you've never done this before, it will make perfect sense when you see it happening.

To get things going, I'm starting the list with some hot items on the next post below...

Wow - this is a great idea! I'll see what I can bring. For sure I will probably bring my 'Barracuda' longboard skateboard with fat tires and big trucks usable for landsailing on smooth surfaces, or just plain old skateboarding.

I have five brand new Dakine Pro form footstraps (black and new smellin') with hardware. (Min $20)
This is what Dakine says:
- Hook and loop exterior adjustment
- Pre-formed arch to eliminate collapsing
- Compatible with both single and double hole footstrap inserts
- 7mm neoprene padding

Plus, an 11" True Ames Weed fin (G-10), tuttle box (not deep). Reasonable shape, few minor nicks that can be sanded down.

Finally, a 6.0m Ezzy Infinity (2000?). Beat to hell with a few new panels but no punctures in the monofilm. No cams and there are small holes along the mast sleeve. This sail was used religiously for 4yrs with 50+days/yr on the water and in the sun. Willing to give away, especially to a new learner.

Anyway, they've sat with me for >1yr. Trades accepted. I'm looking for a good mast extension.

Look for Jon Nye later Saturday to see the gear or leave a note on the car with WI plates. ciao.
