Sat March 5

I guess lots of people have left for the MidWinters, but those of us who stayed may actually get more wind. Sat looks like a front is coming through, with w or wnw winds maybe 10-20, maybe better but who knows. Precip forecasts have been all over the place, but I'm figuring on going to the lake. If the Galts crowd is going to be there, I'll go. So let me know who's going where.

another day when the soccer meter is pegged on 10 (thankfully, not 11, I only have one game to coach and another to attend)

maybe I'll make it up in the late pm. too bad that I'll have to kick the squirrels living in my trailer out for the day.

Randy, I promise to get the report going soon.

If the wind is there (at Galts) I will be there.

I think we all have to thank Webguy and his soccer matches. I think he is hitting on 100% accuracy which is much better than Weather.com

Not as good as 79 degrees but 65 is still warm.

I understand there is a very bad draught in the northwest. Has it affected water levels in the Gorge?

I think it is the 2 worst.. but the river is full it is realy a series of lakes between the dams. the Snake river will help out. There has notbeen much current it seems since back in Dec. i went out on an Easterly day at Stevenson in Dec. on a 4.2
were the wind and current go in the same direction and had to come back in and rig a 4.7 because of the current. Out here during the summer it is super dry so i don't think it can get more dry than dry. The prices of water and electric will go up..

Tunred out to be a pretty wild day. Al, Jimmy, Patrick and I all arived around 11, and no one could decide what to rig. The forecast was really strong, but it didn't look that windy. Eventually we settled on 5.75 (me) all the way up to 7.0 (Jimmy) with some 6's in between. At first it was pretty weak, though I was surprised to be able to get planning fairly often in the gusts. However, it continued to build as the day went on. By the time Bill arrived (he chose 6.5) it was getting pretty strong. By 2 it was becomming "Wind Gone Wild" as we were all getting overpowered much of the time. By 3 we were all blown off the water, and packing up (except for Al, who never gives up.) Pretty fun day, I measured wind at 20-23 mph around 4 though it had dropped off noticably by then.

2:30 to 4:30 at Lanier was sweet! I believe everyone was on 5.0 or smaller. A little up and down till then, but 64 degrees and 4.7 sail makes a great combination!

saw soccer, coached soccer, windsurfed. not a bad day.

dang, I forget how cold the water gets, though. I really used to do this in the lower 40s to upper 30s?
