On a warm antique day in the spring, wondering if VP will be a barbecue and picnic madhouse? If you are shopping for that wing chair, I'd say go early.
Antique shopping aside, is anyone going windsurfing tomorrow at Lake Lanier? I'd like to launch at Van Pugh unless the wind is really SW. At 49F the water is so cold, I'd be surprised if the Park fills up early.
I'm open to other suggestions for a launch site if the wind is Southwest, in which case Old Federal or the LL Sailing Club seem to have better launches.
whoosh...
It was too soon to talk about it out loud. I wasn't going to spend another weekend watching cats jump into boxes on youtube
Can't make up my mind whether to join the pick'e'm up truck and big belly crowd at sunrise, get killed on my longboard trying to keep up with Chris at LLSC (see longboard thread) or dodge pinatas and duck hammocks at Van Pugh. Magic 8 Ball says, "outlook hazy." Choices, choices.
I agree with Barrett, forecasts looks like W or maybe W/SW with a good amount of wind, so lools like Van Pugh would be the call, unless it goes alot of S or unless the park fills up. I hope to sail VAN PUGH, after lunch, probably around 2:00.
Cook out at LLSC afterwards sounds like fun if that works out, and do appreciate Chris V being so generous with the launch, etc.
I might join with my kite.
I might try allatoona lake too.
Do you know spot to launch over there?
Thank you.

Max,
I'm not the official Allatoona guy but I'd think that old 41 is probably the best spot but that's just a guess from reading the comments from the Allatoona sailors over the years.
I would probably try Keith's Bridge, or if there is more south in it Tidwell. Side off close to shore seems to be best bet for warm wind/cold water.
Another possibility is Fields Landing at Allatoona.
What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
