Sailing Wednesday versus Club Meeting?

Looks like a good forecast for Wednesday with Northwest winds 20-30 and temperatures in the mid 40s. But, Wednesday is the second Wednesday of the month and should be club meeting night. If the forecast holds true, it’ll be tough to sail and make it to the meeting. A lot of times some of us grab a bite to eat after sailing, so….. how about we plan on eating after sailing (maybe Golden Coral, 985 exit 8, or if there’s someplace else along I-85 closer in) and call that the February meeting. Anyone not sailing but in the area can hopefully join us. In March, we need to get back on schedule, second Wednesday (3/12) at Frankies.

How about it?

Oh, and I plan on sailing at Van Pugh Wednesday around lunch time.

I plan to sail tomorrow, but I'm afraid my booms may be compromised since Sunday. Is any body going who has a smallish set of booms that I could use? P.S. - Albert - call me- 404-525-7190 or 404-784-0287.

Chris,

WindSense has a 140-190cm boom in consignment (one of mine) you can borrow if it'll work for you and keep you from missing a day of wind. It's ready to go, with harness lines and uphaul and is in good shape. The price on it is $65, (a deal) if anyone is interested.

I plan on being at Van Pugh around lunch.

I talked to Jamie Huff about heading to Van Pugh. We both plan to arrive around 1 to 1:30PM.

Chris P and Alain (sp) said they're coming, around 1 or 1:30. Marcel is a maybe. THE MAN, Randy F is NOT going to Man-Up today. Looks like the call is for around 1:00.

It is currently 40 degrees (11:55) on my deck and I'm hoping the sun will come out and the temp will stabilize or go up, not down. Oh, and it is blowing.

OK, the temp is dropping a little, now 38 degrees on my deck at 12:45. Some sailors are talking about waiting to see if the sun comes out and if it warms up. I think I'm going on down to Van Pugh, but probably wont sail until some others join me.

Almost live update. Temp has now dropped to 34. Plenty of wind, though. Looks like a good day to sit back and sail my desk......

Alain and I changed our minds, temp was 36 per my car on the way, we stood around, decided it was too cold, on the way home car was reading 34. Maybe next time.
