I think it is getting time to go. Florida is the destination. We just missed two really good days at Fred Howard - blowing good and 78 degrees.
I am watching the weather down there. Anyone else want to go.
Tampa Desoto State Park and Fred Howard are only 40 minutes from each other. Both are great places to sail and there are always other sailors there.
Why don't we make it a group ROAD TRIP :idea:

Dave - Let me know when you plan to go. Wind and temps are still good here on the Carolina coast, but it would be fun to sail in flatter and warmer water and to catch up with the home crew. I'm pretty well booked thru year end, but anytime after Jan 1 is fair game.

Tim, I have a beach house reserved for Jan 18 to 25 in Key West. As you know it takes about 2 days to get down there so what I do is take a look at the weather before I go and when I come back to decide my route. Last year I went down on the Atlantic side and came back on the Gulf side.
I sailed Merritt Island, Miami, Virginia Key and Key Biscayne Park on the way down and I did Desoto park and Fred Howard on the way back. At each place I sailed there were always other windsurfers.
I know Mark Woodman wants to go and do some video of his kiteboarding.
Any way I am going no matter what in January. Only question is how many extra days down and back do I spend.
I can't take the cold winters up here anymore. So Florida here I come.

Count us in. My wife and I are planning on the Windsurfing trip to Florida departing sometime from the end of Dec thru mid-Jan.

I will be in Weekiwatchee for a few weeks starting Dec 16, not too far from Fred Howard. No gear, though, except a stunt kite to bring along since I'm flying. Bummer.

The Mid-Winters in Cocoa Beach is March 5-8 this year. We've had some good trips to this event in the past. I think I've missed it the last few years so it might be time to head back down.
