Gene and I are planning another road trip very soon. Gene reported a very fun and eventful trip to Jekyll with David W., Barrett, Alan, Jerry, David D. (forgive me if I left anyone else out). Here are the choices for consideration in order of shortest distance to longest: Jekyll or St. Simons (windsurfing, kite (good chance of sea breeze), landsailing, SUP, biking). Hugenout/Jacksonville (windsurfing, kite, (good chance of sea breeze) landsailing, SUP, surfing, biking). Cape San Blas/Mexico Beach (windsurfing, kite (not much chance of sea breeze), SUP, surfing (marginal waves). Cocoa Beach/Jetty Park (windsurfing, kite, (good chance of sea breeze) SUP, surfing (best waves).
Our plan is to camp and to stay around 4 days or more. Hugenout, Jetty Park, and Cape San Blas campgrounds are right on the water, although Hugenout can get a little rambunctious in the summer. I didn't want to come back so I'd fo sho' be up for a east coast road trip......... depending on the weekend.
Looks like we are going to set several date ranges, then watch the forecast within these ranges and deploy on anything favorable. I think we are going to discuss it at tonights meeting.
