This morning we have wind! I'm in taking a break from sailing a 7.0 meter with a 130 liter JP board. By the way, I bought the JP X-Cite Ride 130 from Gene and am thrilled with its performance. The water in the sound is too warm for a wetsuit, but for the first time, there are jellyfish. I haven't been stung yet using a rash guard on top with thin tights tucked into booties.
Peggy & I arrived Saturday night, too late to sail. Sunday, Monday and Wednesday there was no wind. On Tuesday the wind was from the East, off the ocean, and I went hang gliding on the big dune at Jocky's Ridge Park. The sand dune is 90 feet high and a perfect place to learn hang gliding. It was a blast!
On the other days we've riding the ocean waves with Boogie boards & fins. (The ocean is a warm 75-78F). We've also been riding bikes and of course my wife has been shopping end-of-season sales. Ron is a great cook and every night we've had a delicious dinner.
The next three days are forecast to have wind.

Barrett,
Good news on the wind! It seemed to me the jelly fish were typically much closer to shore. I did see a few once I got out a way, but not nearly as many. Is that still the case?

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
Today started off with rainshowers, but as the sky cleared the wind gradually picked up. The jellyfish may still be there, but since I couldn't see them , I convinced myself the wind blew them away. I sailed all of my boards beginning with the 130 liter, then the 102 and finally I sailed the 84 liter in bare feet. What a blast!
As we get ready to go out for dinner at The Lone Cedar, wind is still whistling through the screens. I sailed with James, the guy from Toronto, and Ron joined us for a couple of hours. With the strong wind, he got his new Mistral board going surprisingly fast.
