Climate change played a big role in the Maui fires. Here is some good news in today's NY Times (and other news) on our long effort to force an evidence-based approach to addressing the cause of climate impacts.

There is really nothing left of Lahaina. Our schools and medical centers, 3000 homes and businesses were consumed. The water is now toxic and not drinkable. The only Highway in and out to get supplies to us is closed. Everyone we know has lost either a loved one, a pet, or their home and life savings. our sons and I have been volunteering 20 hours a day since this began to help our neighbors. Our home for some reason was saved because we are so high on the hill but we had to do something to help others. This fund will go towards the people who need it the most.
