Racing tune-up?

Anybody want to go sail around some made-up marks in preparation for the Shredfest/Fall Classic? I propose we convene at an appropriate spot for wind direction and just sail a course for grins. I can tell you everything I know about how to do it in about two minutes.

How about Wednesday late afternoon? I think the big boats are still racing their Summer series starting at 7 p.m., so if nothing else, we could funnel down a few cold ones and watch them.

310 @ 8 knts is what the mos thing suggests. Good for VP or LLSC would be ok. We can use the grill at LLSC & ethanol is permitted.

Perhaps the f'cast will change-- let's wait anohter day to call it.

Definitely interested. I'll be there for the racing skool unless I can't escape from work in time, in which case I'll probably show up anyway.

Interesting changes to the f'cast. NWS changed from West @10 to South 5-10. The mos f'cast changed from a nice oscillating W-NW-W. Now they forecast W-NE-S-SW @ 3-6 knts (3 hr intervals). I think this is what you get when a low east of you moves north and the circulation = its speed. It's the classic Retrograde Anti-cyclonic Tropical Storm High Intensity Trough Syndrome. (Willi-filters require you work out the acronym for yourself).

So-- In the interest of avoiding an antifun session, I suggest we bag it until another day.

I might go up to LLSC tomorrow anyway and watch the big boats chase the wind around the compass. Visitors are always welcome with a member. Call me for the gate code if you want to go. 404-386-8505.

Hi Chris,
I guess I need to stay here in Perry and study Anatomy. Shucky Darn! Have fun and I hope the weather permits you to sail a little.
take it easy,
