Hello All!
Brief intro:
My name is Igor. I guess, only Chuck Hardin - my first windsurf Guru - knows me around here My first step on the board was only 3 months ago (Labor Day)... so, you got the picture (i'm gonna ask stupid questions)
Ok. A general question is how you guys are traveling somewhere further then Lake Lanier, with your family (which means you cannot put your sails, booms and masts inside your car) ? I now how Chuck is doing it with his trailer... It's not going to work for me, I just have a regular honda accord sedan car (with a roof rack)
I figured, I will need a bag for my equipment where I can put my sails, masts AND booms... so, I cannot put anything inside my car (because I will have 4 people in it). And this bag should be roof rack mountable. So, I will have my board on the roof rack and on a top of it it's gonna be the bag with all the equip.
Believe it or not but I could not find a good combo bag for my windsurfing equipment in USA/Canada! Google, Yahoo search engines just keep giving me UK/Europe web-sites for the bags I wanted... and I could only find two bags:
- "Pat Love Master Quiverbag" - http://www.2xs.co.uk/Pat_Love_Master_Quiverbag.asp?CID=111
- "Pro Limit Session Bag, Wave" - http://www.2xs.co.uk/Pro_Limit_Session_Bag.asp?CID=111
with no dimensions though... so, I don't know if my equip. will fit in there (with booms!).
And I am leaving for Key West in 3 weeks...
I cannot believe that nobody had this problem and didn't solve it...
So, more specific question is: which of those two bags would you recommend? Or maybe there is a solution I've overlooked? Or maybe somebody has a used bag like this?
P.S. sorry for babbling
Thanks!
Igor.
With the best wishes, Rodnoy.
Pro limit makes some top quality bags
Alan
Do you know, by any chance, the dimensions of that bag?
Thanks!
Igor.

A friend has the wave session bag he carries 4.7 5.3 6.2 & 7.0 sails. A 460 and two 400 mast, it's really made for 430's but he can squeeze a 460 in the middle
the next size up is the freeride session and It will fit up too a 9.5 sail and 490 mast, I've had 5 sails and three mast squeezed into mine it before but that max's it out.
Alan
here are the new ones

they also make a sessions board bag that's pretty cool. It will hold your board, sails, mast, booms...everything

Alan
Yeah, that's cool. I'd like to buy the "Aero Session" bag
But still I couldn't find WHERE I can buy them
Anyway, thank you for the info
I found one distributor in Georgia: "Windsense Windsurfing" but couldn't reach him by phone today... will try tomorrow...
I guess, I will end up buying the bag in UK, hoping it's Ok... I can't believe nobody sells them in USA... it's amazing... man!..:)
Thanks!
Igor.
With the best wishes, Rodnoy.

I have a Dakine duplex quiver bag, the "Freeride" is 9'. It holds three 2-piece masts and ~5 sails. When full, it's pretty dang heavy. Whatever you get, I think you should buy from your guru or some other friendly, local WS dealer. Also, Murrays Marine shows pix w/ dimensions, etc.

I have travelled w/ booms on top of a board and one or two sails nested between masts (so they don't get totally crunched) and cinched down carefully w/ bungees. Wind has a way of working things loose on a long ride, so do this thoughtfully if you do it and check it occaisionally.
It seems like it's been windy in the Keys lately... and WARM!
I also have a Dakine quiver bag -- probably the same one that Chris V. has. I can easily put five sails in it and three masts (easily holds a 490). It's a few years old, but I've only used it a few times and still looks practically brand new. I'd be happy to sell it for pretty cheap.
Give me a call if you're interested: 404-808-5742.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm gonna do
That's the reason why I want a bag where my boom will fit... and the only thought that something will fly away with 80mph on a highway right to the next car's windshield gives me creeps, man... like in the "Final Destination 2"
Yep... i've been checking the winds for a week now... can't wait to get there!
Thanks!
Igor.

Kristian, thank you very much!
I will try to get the Aero ProLimit bug through Gene first (the bag where my booms will fit easily along with other stuff and I won't have that final-destination-2-like nightmare meantime )...
P.S. Unless the width of your bag is somewhere around 20-22 (or more) inches...
Thanks!
Igor.

Igor, you might check to see that the total width of the board & bag you're looking at will fit on your racks.
I routinely put 2 or 3 booms on top of one or even two boards on my roof with staps over the whole thing-- very secure. (Quiver bag rides next to that stack). Or if I carry 3 boards, the stack is pretty tall, so I put the booms standing "on edge" (bungeed to the rack) between the quiver bag & boards.
