I bought a deviator to protect th nose of my F2 Discovery during kid use. I have tried to put it on using every mast base I have and the bolt is not long enough with the deviator in place. I removed the friction disks on the bottom of the bases and they still aren't long enough. The F2 mast track may be slightly deeper and that along with the extra thickness of the Deviator plate makes the bolts too short. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you come up with.
Thanks, Alan Gibson

what kind of base are you using?
for that matter, what kind of kid's rig are you using (how old are the kids?)
The kids rig has an adapter that makes it fit a standard mast diameter. The bases are Gorge Technology, Chinook, and a Windsurf Hawaii. All have the single bolt from the rubber hour glass joint. The bolt coming from the rubber joint is not long enough to go through the deviator and still be deep enough to thread the nut in the track. I have noticed that the F2 Discovery seems to have a deeper track than my smaller slalom boards. I don't know if this is a F2 trait or is the fact that my equipment is 10 years old.
One thing just came to mind. My retainer nuts are flat pieces of steel. Are there newer types of nuts that fit in the track groove better? If they make one that is shaped to fit the track groove it may give the bolt more to bite on. I will look around on line to see if a nut like this exists.
Thanks
I believe what I need is a T-Nut. This will give me the reach I need. Now I just have to figure out where to get one (quick!). If anyone has any other thoughts please pass them on.
Thanks, Alan
WindSense has them, in stock, give me a call.
