It looks pertty windy, fairly warm, sunny and blue sky. Anybody interested in going to Van Pugh? The airport is saying it was W18, Gusting to 28, and 58 degrees at 1:00.
Don't go. If you do, you will just compare it to Hatteras in your mind and conclude that winfsurfing in Atlanta is a waste of time. Wait until you are really desperate and you have forgotten about Hatteras, then it won't seem so bad.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
start at noonish nice chop/ramps very powered .5 hour 5.5 and 115 ltr then 1 hour on 5.5 and 78 liter
wave board plenty power.. then back on 115 and 5.5 for an hour powered
then it was ride the gusts on the 5.5 for the rest of the day!
DW,CP,TC,JH and 2 that launchedupwind near VP south
Hatteras missed you, too, Gene. Late afternoon the wind shifted from SW (sideoff where we are staying in Buxton) to NW. Chris and I ventured out in the pelting rain, only to be rewarded by clearing skies and a nice two-hour session--me on a 4.2 and Chris on a 4.7.
Sunday afternoon: Chris and I paid homage to the Canadian Hole. He was superfreaking on his 4.2 and 70-liter Naish and I tried out my 3.7 on my 78-liter Goya. The waves on the ocean side were quite impressive--at times logo to mast high on the outside. Not challenging enough for us, so we just observed.

Flipper,
I was there also, remember me? and Randy, I did miss Hatteras, But it was nice on the 5.2 for a while, nice ramps, then too gusty.
Who was sailing up wind and where did they launch from? The parking lot/boat ramp between Van Pugh North & VP South??
