Looks like they're calling for more wind on Monday. I plan to sail Van Pugh in the afternoon if we get it.

It's blowing already, but alittle chilly. We'll probably see some of those new BARE dry suits out today. I'll probably be at Van Pugh around lunch time, waiting for the tempt to get out of the 40's.

The season has begun, Saturday was very nice, 6.0 and warm, and now wind today, Monday, and maybe tomorrow too. Life is good Biggrin . Everybody come on out!

I sailed Van Pugh from 7:30-10am. Spent the entire time as a loner. The water temp is still high and, yes, the wind chill sucks but if you get cold just dunk yourself in the lake. I use a 4/3 NeilPryde and never complained. By 10am the wind picked up considerably, beyond the practical range of my 6.3m. Pack 6.3 and smaller. Have fun all.

Jon must haqve just been a little too early. We had a good crew out all afternoon, with even few coming after work. and it did blow. I sailed a 6.0 to start and then 5.2. That was pretty much the sail rang with a 4.7 thrown in. We did have plenty of wind but it was pretty tough sailing, the chop had absolutely no pattern, wind shifting from W to N and all points in between, with some lulls thrown in. I was definattely worn out at the end of the day.

AND looks like we have to do it again today, (tues). I hope to be at Van Pugh around lunch, when it warms up some.

Alan, Mimi and I sailed at Galts, pretty much same story (sails ranging from 4.8-5.2-5.7 I think). I even sailed the Ecstasy, after bashing my Seatrend (its ok). Fun day, and tons of wind. Bill H showed up just as I was leaving.

juliette report

juliette report

5.4-5.8 ~ N/NW wind cast a big wind shadow from the launch area, abnormally big swells in the channel for juliette. Warm water ~ cool air 3/2 SS steamers seemed to work well for now.

Tuesday 10/25 report-

Another windy day, actually nicer than monday, the wind was from the west and stayed that way, not many shifts, the chop lined up with some very nice starboard ramps, tempt wasnt bad and it wasnt as gusty. Really a nice day, although I was still tired from Monday's work out. Chuck Painter and I, (he was on a 6.5 and I sailed a 6.0) and the GA Tech crew sailed mid day, and then the after work shift of Diane and Jim Crook came later. There was also one Kiter.

The Fall season has begun nicely, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Keep them coming.

Same story down here at Clarks Hill (near Augusta). Great start ot the fall season!
Saturday was a beautiful day with 7.0 to 8.5 the call. Monday was a bit of a workout early on but then got filled in. We jsut stayed out overpowered and enjoyed the speed. Only 3 of us out but we agreed it was one of the fastest "soul" sessions ever.
Tuesday really got nice with the perfect combiantion of wind angle and ramps. I was on 5.8 -- couda been smaller for sure, Chris Campbell was on a 5.3 -- but It was the easiest jumping day I can remember on the lake. Just little effort -- or skill in my case -- to get airborne. It was rather weird, but great fun. Wind just seemed to lift and carry you.
