Miami report

Weather here has been unusually warm, somewhat breezy, although less so than I would prefer. This year, though, I got smart and brought a longboard - specifically a Mistral Ventura - circa '87, about 10'6", and skinny. This was a freebee and when I first got it I didn't think I would have that much use for it, but with a new (to me) 7.2 it has made all the difference down here. Among other things, I was able to get out to the reef off Virginia Key in on shore winds in just a couple of reaches to then play in the waves, upwind and down, no worries. The surfing experience was quite different from a shortboard, but still fun. I'll be back next week - see you next windy day.
