I came across this sad story that happened in South Africa to a beginner Kitesurfer, even with a flat (bow) kite, I think my point is we should always be careful ( kitesurfers and windsurfer ) and we should avoid the use of equipment that have proven to be potentially risky and faulty. this poor guy died from a bad leash clip that caught one of his lines.

That's a sobering, and tragic reminder of how dangerous our sport can be if not treated with the utmost respect. It's paramount to keep safety top of mind, especially as the sport grows here in Atlanta. The wind in a kite gone wild can be an unbelievable force, even in small doses. It looks like the connection getting caught in the wrong lines made the kite continue to loop and gain power. Thanks for bringing the instance to our attention Khalil.
