At the Endless Summer regatta at Shell Point I expected to see a big crop of hybrids taking over- not so. Even the Prodigy guys, who seemed totally committed to the one-design idea, all found longboards to race. Wright Finney, who sold his Equipe and I thought was going to a hybrid, instead got a Lightning (longer and more volume than an Equipe). There were also several Konas. One appeared on the race course and didn't fair that well.
It was a great time there as usual. It was good wind for one race on Saturday but that petered out. I had to leave early on Sunday, but I heard there was planing wind for more racing in the a.m.

Hey Chris, Sunday morning was great. We had a chance to get 1 race in some pretty awsome wind. Footstraps and harness lines baby! The second race was pretty ugly! Not much wind to speak of. Im glad you and Dan got a chance to make it. I will be comming up for the Fall Classic in a few weeks. I thought I might try using that special bike you showed interest in. You know the one that goes 40 mph and needs a chain changed every 400 miles. Can't figure out where to put my board though.
Just throw the board under your good arm... and keep it close to the bike.
Hey Steve, I might just try it. Only I may need some practice runs first. Let me borrow your new board for practice! You gonna make the Fall classic?
