Each year the Atlanta Boardsailing Club presents the Learn To Windsurf Day in June. Sometimes they are a little slow about making the announcement but it does happen each year. Slots usually fill quickly. It will take place at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga. Cost is very reasonable and lunch will be served.

Since I am out of town I cannot watch the release info for you but you can check on dates and time at:

If you are interested in attending then make a post on the ABC web site and let them know you are interested.

It is always lots of fun, a bit of a challenge and cool fun becuase it is in the water.

It was June 25 last summer so that will give you an idea of when it usually is, in the meantime if you want to get a jump start, Chris Pyron is very reasonable and can get you on the water.
There should be a sign up page around here pretty soon.

Webguy - When did you say Learn To Windsurf Day is. I must have missed it the first time.

I think a major issue on establishing the date for the LTW clinic is due to the Gorge trip from June 17th to 25th that myself, Gene Mathis, Danny Johnson, and Joe O'leary are going on. I have most of the teaching gear, but not all by far. With Gene and Danny on this trip also, that includes a lot of the other teaching gear. So, we may need to establish a date in July. For me, that will have to be the last two weekends in July, I believe. (Although, the 8th July weekend may be a possibility.)

I would really like to attend this. I believe my brother would love to go, too. We are both learning and are very much beginners.

Any chance it will be held on a Sunday?

Melissa and others,

Just talked to Gene, sounds like the date will be July 22. More details will be posted later on this web page.

Also, there are options available to get lessons and equipment rentals from club members, and our local dealers without waiting till July. Chris Pyron provides lessons and is usually one of the trainers at Learn to Windsurf. Also check out the Windesense (Gene Mathis) and Whitecap (Chuck Hardin) web pages for details on what they offer.
