Learn to Windsurf clinic this weekend!! Final call...

Come all ye newbies to the annual ABC Learn to Windsurf clinic on Lake Lanier this Saturday.
Wether you are going to be a "student" or a volunteer, make sure you get your confirmation into Gene Mathis or Chuck Hardin -- or just post a reply here or that other LTW thread below. We need to know how much gear and food to have on hand. So far, we estimate about 10 people have confirmed. That is about the routine at this "last minute": We have a short dozen or so confirmed a week before and then end up with 20+ on the day. (If you recall, last year we had to have 2 clinics!) I expect we'll have about 15 to 20 again, so get your confirmation into us so we can arrange our resources.
Final location on the lake will be announced here on Friday morning based on expected wind direction. We'll also e-mail all the confirmees if we have your address.
THANKS! See you there.

This is not the official notice of location but based on the forecasts, it looks like the clinic will be held at Sunrise Cove.

We will have a good group of students and there are still a few slots available. We have SOME Volunteers but can still use some MORE. And of course everyone is welcome to come just hang out.

IF you have any questions, or would like sign up or confirm your place in the class, or like to Volunteer, please contact either Chuck Hardin (706-833-WIND) or Gene Mathis at (404-735-4944).

The official location posting will be FRIDAY morning on this web page.

The forecast looks like it could be around 7-10 mph, SW which is perfect for learning! It should be a great day.

I'll be there as a volunteer. I'll bring the Start and a small rig in case another board will help people get more time on the water.

This is the Officail Notice - the clinic will be held at Sun Rise Cove. It begins at 11:00, lunch will be served around 12:30, and the class usually finishes up around 3:00 or 4:00. Sail rigging and set up should begin around 10:00. Dont forget traffic on I-85 is alittle slow sometimes.

Sunrise Cove - N I-85 to N I-985 to Exit 16. Left on Mundy Mill (GA 53). In about two miles, road will seem to end into McEver (it actually becomes a lane past the light. Turn left on McEver. At second light turn right on Flat Creek Rd. Go about two miles passing one 4way stop. As road appears to end at gate to Marina turn right just befor gate into public day use area. Park near Portajons at bottom of the hill.

Everyone is invited.

Gene - Would you please post directions via Peachtree Industrial for those not wanting to take I-85?

Peachtree Industrial becomes McEver Road where it crosses Friendship Road (which is Exit 8 of I985) and goes from 4 lanes to 2 lanes. Continue for about 8 miles and turn LEFT on Flat Creek Road. Then as above: Go about two miles passing one 4way stop. As road appears to end at gate to Marina turn right just befor gate into public day use area. Park near Portajons at bottom of the hill.

OK, what's for lunch you ask??? Gene's almost famous Smoked BBQ Chicken, Potatoe Salad, Chips, Cole Slaw and Sodas & Water to drink. Also, an additional big Cooler or 2 is needed. If you can bring one, give me a call, 404-735-4944.

Come on out!!!

We DO plan on having the clinic TODAY. It is raining a little bit now, but hopefully it will pass and we may even get a decent amount of wind. SO, come on out.
