Looks like at least four of us have expressed an interest in Bonaire and we need to go ahead and take advantage of the cheaper prices this week. The dates of November 29-Dec. 2 have been suggested, with at least one person wanting to stay a few days longer. Please express your interest ASAP if you're interested in joining this trip. Specific rates were posted in the earlier email.

Carol,
Tell me more. I'd love to try Bonaire.
I heard the trades arent that great that time of the year, May-August the best, am I wrong?
Danny
You are right Danny -- it is not the best time to go for wind. But they have held the King of the Caribbean freestyle event for years in early December and it always seems like they get enough wind for decent competition. I would guess you could expect 6.0-7.0 conditions.
For Bonaire wind, go here: http://www.bonairewindsurfplace.com/windchart.html
Their slowest months are September and October and then the wind starts picking back up. They have had unusually high winds all this year and we were the week after Thanksgiving last year. The winds were 18 to 22 most days, with one day being around 12-15 knots.
Bonaire has three distinct advantages over other windsurfing places: (1) It's a ideal place for beginner-intermediate windsurfers almost all the time and for advanced when the winds are really blowing. (2) It's a great, cheap for diving also. You can shore dive for $100/week - all the diving you want to do. (3) The locals are friendly, there's only 18,000 population, so everyone who comes to Bonaire comes to dive and/or windsurf. It's a quiet little island and a very nice getaway. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I just checked the AirJamaica website and emailed Andy at BonairePros, and the cheap fares are gone. The cheapest prices now are $563. And you guys talk about women not being able to make up their minds! Whenever you see prices that cheap, you'd better act on it within a few days. They don't last.
