It has been rising a lot. I was out at Old Fed on Sat, and 2 Mile on Sunday. What's interesting is that even though it is now "only" six feet low, it still doesn't really look "normal". There are lots of exposed areas, lots on "land bridges" etc. At Old Fed there is still a narrow strip of land connecting the beach to the small island. It looks to me like it would take another 3-4 feet before it looks the way I remembered it.

I think that what really controls the lake level is how much they draw out, more than evaporation. How much gets sent down to FL, and AL, probably has the most important role. (Aside from how much is sent down by mistake, which the COE seems to do from time to time.) Does anyone know if watering restrictions are still in place? I heard on the news the other night that Lake Allatoona for 3-4 foot over full pool, but you still can't wash your car.
(Don't get me wrong. I love watering restrictions. That way everone's lawn and car looks as bad as mine.)

Watch out for all the stuff that has floated off the shoreline. I happened on some bigguns Friday.
Today, May 13, 2009, is the first day the lake has not risen since Dec. 1, 2008.
So that means it has gone up every day for the last 164 days straight.
June should be the level off period and evaporation should now begin to take effect.
Is it a down hill slide from here or will it go up again.
All bets are ON!
