Lake Juliette Camping Trip 7/14-16

Lisa & I (and hounds) are planning a short Camping Road Trip to Lake Juliette Friday thru Sun, 7/14-16. I've never been there, heard it's nice, it's close and I haven't been camping for a while. I'm bringing my WindSurfing Gear (and Kayak), and think it'll be fun even if it doesnt blow.

Camp sites are $16 per night for tent sites with electricity (bringing a fan), deposit required but refundable if cancel prior to 48 hours, and there are still camp sites available. If anyone would like to come on down and join us, call 478-994-7945 for reservations.

I'm In

This is one of the best lakes for beginners to learn on, so it would be a good place to have a pre - learn to windsurf day.
We (the windsurfers) and a few sailboater's pretty much have the main body of the lake to ourselves, no boat chop, and warm clear clean water.

I'm in, I think. Any possibility of sharing a campsite? Moon is full on the 11th, so should have moonlight through the night for sailing or other boating.

Juliette Weekend Report - HOT!

The campgrounf was nice and uncrowded, the lake is nice with not much boat trafic, but it sure was HOT! Chris did come down Sat, we had some but not much wind, we sailed around and kayaked and enjoyed the camping in spite of the heat. I;m glad we had a site with electricity and a fan. Launching from the campground was good but if you had to launch from the day use area, it looked like it would be tough.

Anyway, it was fun, and I think it would be a fun weekend camping trip when the weather cools off and there's a better chance of wind, maybe in September or October. It took a little over an hour to get there from South 285 and 75.

Chris, I have your lawn chair and will bring to the Learn to Windsurf Clinic Saturday.

Did I mention it was HOT!?

When we left at 4:00 on Sunday, my car said it as 101 degrees outside in the campground.

Gene, it may have been hot at Juliette, but David Wade's "Squater's Island" was on Lake Lanier was really cool. He had everything - lawn chairs, coolers, jet skis, soft drinks, even a football.

What happens in a black hole stays in a black hole.
