Good morning guys,
can any of you tell me what city Lake Juliette is in? Or where exactly the campground is at? I am trying to bring up driving directions on mapquest.
Thanks,
J.J.
It is in Juliette Ga. Home of the fried green tomato
the directions on the boardsailing websites are close but...
I-75 to exit 185 (hwy 18 ) then east about 10 miles to the 4way then north (left) about 4 miles, you will pass the lake twice on your left then the entrance to dames ferry is on the left

hey cool if you put an 8 beside a ) without a space it makes a
JJ - welcome to windsurfing. Juliette is nice- definitely go there, but if there is a sailable lake closer, go there too. Sail as much as you can and don't wait for a "windy" day. Every day usually has some wind. Check wind forecasts mostly for direction, to know where to launch and and where not, but maybe don't bet a 5hr. drive on any specific wind speed forecast - they're wrong as often as they're right. Juliette works on anything more or less west which is the predominant summer direction, and in fact, if it's fairly due west, you could sail out of the boat launch if you need to - good practice for making progress to windward. Have fun.
ChrisP brings up a good point about checking for wind direction. Do not sail at Juliette when North or NorthEast winds are forecasted -- it is dead offshore. Southwest and West winds are best there.
Also be prepared to buy the best wetsuit you can afford. This will increase your sailing time immensely. Our best winds happen in the colder months and we sail year round.
It is about 7 miles due east of Forsyth.
